Zellwood, Florida (February 15, 2008) –Dr. John Pallard, Executive Director of Anthony House and Mr. Bob Singletary, Coordinator of the Adult Leadership Classes, are pleased to announce that Edonna Meeks, a transitional resident at Anthony House since October 29, 2007 has successfully completed her program.
“Her graduation today, is a testimony to her hard work, her drive and her spirit,” Singletary said. He noted that “Ms. Meeks has been able to secure gainful employment and a new home for herself and her daughter.”
Meeks stated that “I wasn’t sure what would happen to us when we first arrived. I was lost, no respect for myself, and low self esteem. I felt I had the biggest hole in my heart that would never heal.” “Now,” she said, “ these people have become my family.” Through the daily regimen of classes, counseling, searching, goal setting and personal planning, Meeks “…realized that I was the only one who could change my life around…I had to get up every day put one foot in front of the other no matter how hard it was.”
“All of us at Anthony House, are happy for Ms. Meeks’ achievement,” Dr. Pallard said. “She was a model guest,” observed Singletary. “We are proud to have known her and wish her the best in the future.”
