Simpler Recycling legislation requires local authorities to collect paper and card separately from other dry recyclables unless it is not technically or economically practicable or there is no significant environmental benefit.<\/p>\n
Local authorities are required to provide a written assessment where one or more of these apply.<\/p>\n
WRAP has developed the eTEEP tool to support local authorities complete a written assessment using pre-populated, standardised data from WRAP\u2019s LA Portal.<\/p>\n
The eTEEP (Electronic Technically, Environmentally and Economically Practicable) tool is supported by the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra).<\/p>\n
While using the tool is not compulsory, local authorities must ensure their written assessment meets an evidential standard that satisfies the Environment Agency.<\/p>\n
